About Surrey

Surrey is the second largest city in BC, and one of the fastest growing cities in Canada. This wasn’t always the case. In the beginning Surrey grew slowly with the lumber and agriculture industries being the main focus. In 1904 a bridge was made to go across Fraser River connecting it to New Westminster and Vancouver. In 1937 Pattullo Bridge was built leading to more industrial and commercial growth. In 1990 the Skytrain was extended across the Fraser River into Surrey.

Surrey was named the “the best place in British Columbia to invest” by the Real Estate Investment Network. In the last 15 years we have seen a lot of change come to Surrey, with the development of Surrey Central. This is where you find Simon Fraser University Surrey Campus as well as the new City Hall. The whole skyline has changed over the years with many new high rises going up. Hence, the name Surrey: The Future Lives Here.

Surrey has over 200 parks and is also known as the City of Parks. Head over to Crescent Beach a popular summer destination for families. In Cloverdale, you will find Canada’s second largest rodeo and horse racing. Some of the communities of Surrey are Fleetwood, Cloverdale, Newton, Guilford, Whalley and South Surrey.
