About Langley

The colony of British Columbia was incorporated in 1858 in Fort Langley a famous post built in 1827 by the Hudson’s Bay Company, where trade happened. Langley was named after HBC director Thomas Langley.

Langley is split into two municipalities; Township of Langley and City of Langley, which each have their own City Hall. Langley falls in between Surrey and Abbotsford. Langley is comprised of the urban areas of Aldergrove, Brookswood, Fort Langley, Murrayville, Walnut Grove and Willoughby.

Langley is home to over 300 acres of parkland, shopping and dining venues, cultural and entertainment attractions including Langley Event Centre where the Vancouver Giants play. Langley is also home to Trinity Western University and Kwantlen University College. The Greater Vancouver Zoo is also located in community of Aldergrove.
